Leith Joinery was born in the garage of Peter & Christine Leith's home in 1984. Three moves later and the business shifted to its current location in Roberts St in 2006.

Peter Leith has a long association with apprentices. He actively employs and trains apprentices in his Leith Joinery workshop. He also encourages excellence in apprentices at a national level. He has been heavily involved with World Skills NZ as a chief joinery expert and judge at local, national and international levels. World Skills is set up to help prepare apprentices for the future to make sure there is a strong skills base continuing through over following years. This is something which Peter and Christine both strongly believe in.
